Team SAY Q&A – Anna MacDonald
We spoke to Anna MacDonald, our Consultant who specialises in Build to Rent, with specific expertise in residential assets and Property Management.
This is what she had to say…
1. If you could sum up working at SAY in one sentence, what would it be?
No two days are the same, exciting clients and projects and a knowledgeable fun team of people to work with.
2. What’s your area of expertise within SAY?
I am part of the Build to Rent team. Coming from an operational background I aim to provide clients with valuable insights into how to optimise their schemes ensuring smooth operations and an enhanced tenant experience.
3. What are some current trends you are seeing from clients approaching you?
As we are seeing across all sectors, the Build to Rent industry is also experiencing a rise in costs. As a result, many of our clients are becoming increasingly mindful of the need to reduce expenses while maintaining a high-quality rental scheme in terms of both value and service.
4. What initially drew you into the industry?
In Australia for our equivalent of A levels you can take an additional subject at TAFE. I completed my certificate three in real estate, so continuing my property studies at university seemed like the next step and the rest is history.
5. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given about your career and who was it from?
Love what you do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.
6. What advice would you give future generations who want to get into the industry?
Pick a sector you’re interested in and focus on knowing as much about it as you can, don’t be afraid to ask questions and keep reading as the industry is always evolving.
